Clearing the way

Photo/ Allen Thayer - Heavy machinery is being used Thursday near the intersection of East F Street and 17th East Avenue in Torrington for the $12.2 million, 1.5-mile highway section and railroad overpass spanning the BNSF tracks to connect U.S. Highway 85 to the Heartland Expressway (U.S. Highway 26) near F Street in Torrington. Reiman Corporation of Cheyenne is in charge of the project. The work will also include landscaping in a park area created by the new bridge ramp between E, F and 17th streets and grading of an industrial park road.
