Posted: Friday, Oct 5th, 2012

Southeast’s Shelby Burroughs had three kills and 36 assists in a 3-2 victory over the Lingle-Fort Laramie Lady Doggers on Tuesday in Torrington.

TORRINGTON – The Southeast Lady Cyclones won their 17th game of the season on Tuesday night with a 3-2 (21-25, 25-19, 25-23, 19-25, 15-11) victory over the Lingle-Fort Laramie Lady Doggers.

In game one, the Lady Doggers (11-5) took control early jumping out to a 7-2 lead. Southeast (17-1) closed the gap to 19-17, but Kylah Meyer picked up one of her 19 kills, extended the Lady Doggers’ lead back to three. Another Meyer kill won game one for LFL.

Game two was the complete opposite. Southeast jumped out to a 13-5 lead. Following a Lady Doggers’ timeout and back-to-back points by Kaylee Greenwald and Dallie Forkner, LFL cut into the eight point lead.

The Lady Doggers closed the gap to three after Southeast’s Hallie Burkart’s kill opportunity went long. LFL later tied the game at 17 apiece.
