Doc counts patients from six decades

TORRINGTON – Dr. Kayo Smith, of Banner Medical Clinic, remembers the Torrington of 1957, and according to the good doctor, “it sure has” changed a lot.

“It was about a 2,000 population, and, of course, they had the sugar factory and the sale barn. Since then, there has been a lot of restaurants and houses and development going on all over. The college was not even started then,” he reminisced from a patient examination room on Thursday morning.
