Crude oil tanker crashes, closes Interstate 25 near Wheatland

Courtesy/ Teri Corvingly - Interstate 25 is now open both directions at the location of Tuesday morning’s tanker crash north of Wheatland. The tractor trailer combination was northbound at the time of the crash. Also an updated amount of the spillage is estimated at only 800 gallons. He was transporting 210 barrels of crude oil. Driver Torin Williams, 55, of Johnstown, Colo., was not injured.

WHEATLAND – Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a tractor trailer tanker crash that occurred shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday approximately 2 miles north of Wheatland.

The crash resulted in the closure of both north and southbound lanes of Interstate 25 due to the spill of the tanker’s cargo of crude oil.
