Trail Elementary holds Patriotism Day

TORRINGTON – Trail Elementary School hosted a patriotic assembly Tuesday afternoon, featuring speeches by Police Chief Billy Janes and City Councilman Randy Adams, in an effort to “educate and inspire” students.

“It is important in today’s society for the next generation to learn about patriotism and to not take for granted our basic human rights that are so rare in many foreign nations,” Trail Elementary music teacher Hilary Gore said. “More importantly, our students should be proud of the country that we live in and the people who have made sacrifices to create the U.S. the great nation that it is today.”
