Trial date set for accused arsonist

WHEATLAND – A trial date has been set for the man charged with third-degree arson in the Guernsey State Park Fire that occurred last June.

Thomas Dean Pierson, 36, of Torrington, entered a plea of not guilty during at his arraignment on Aug. 15 in Platte County District Court to the felony charge of third-degree arson and the misdemeanor charge of negligently burning woods, prairie or grounds.
