Shock victim recovering after amputation - Benefit to be held for Zacharia Chavez

TORRINGTON – A Torrington man who suffered severe burns after a tree-trimming accident July 16 lost part of his arm but is recovering.

Amanda Baker, a family friend of Zacharia Chavez, said Chavez is recovering and has a very positive attitude. Baker is organizing a benefit slated for Aug. 11 to aid the Chavez family.
