ROCK SPRINGS – More than 1,500 competitors from all 50 states along with Canada and Australia converged on Rock Springs last week to close out the 2012 high school rodeo season.
Three local competitors qualified to make the trip to Rock Springs. Torrington junior Shai Schaefer qualified in goat tying and team ropers Logan Milligan, Southeast sophomore, and K.L. Spratt, Lysite, qualified for the national finals by finishing in the top four in the Wyoming High School Rodeo Association state standings in their respective divisions, while Kaylie Haun qualified for three events through the Nebraska High School Rodeo Association.
None of the local cowboys and cowgirls qualified for Saturday’s short-go round.
