TORRINGTON — A fierce rainstorm packing wind speeds of around 70 mph at times and severe lightning toppled several trees Thursday night.
According to the National Weather Service, a half-inch of rain fell Thursday at Torrington Airport and another one-tenth of an inch Saturday.
