Swimmers speed to 10 records

Torrington's Anna Liggett placed seventh in the 25-yard free style and 50-yard free in the 9-10 age group in Bridgeport, Neb., on Saturday.

TORRINGTON– Thirty-seven Torrington swimmers competed in Bridgeport, Neb., on Saturday.

“Bridgeport was our best meet this season with Torrington swimmers bringing home over one-third of the first place ribbons and swimming 10 pool record breaking times,” coach Ronda Meyer said. We are in a great position going into our final meet of the season.”

The team will travel to Sidney, Neb., on July 14 for the final meet of the season.

Seven Torrington swimmers broke 10 event-records. The swimmers who broke records were Mattie Jones, Makena Engelker, Savannah Mirich, Anya Randolph, Brittany Anderson, Catie Berry and Molly Creager.
