TORRINGTON – Becky Lynn Borton, 57, of Newcastle, passed away on June 24 at Weston County Health Services in Newcastle with her family by her side.
Becky was born on April 9, 1955, in Newcastle, the daughter of Cledus and Fern (Craig) Highland. She was the oldest of three girls.
On Oct. 19, 1974, she married Bruce Borton, of Jay Em, and they made their home in Newcastle.
After studying and appreciating precious truths from the bible, she became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1982. She valued the hope of the ransom sacrifice that was made available to all meek ones. That moved her to share those truths with her family and many others.
She lived for her children and her grandchildren, even becoming; “Aunt Buck,” “Dappy” and “Grammy” to many. There was no end to her love and generosity.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce Borton, of Newcastle; daughters, Brandi Rae Mills (Ryan), of Daniel, and Seiley Shae Capps (William), of Laramie; son, Garrett Jet Borton, of Newcastle; sisters, Launa Christensen (Walt), of Newcastle, and Paula Smith (Mike), of Elko, Nev.; grandchildren, Cappel and Sylvan Mann, Rugby and Basil Capps, and Tyce and Shaye Mills; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her mother, Fern (Craig) Highland, and father, Cledus Highland, both of Newcastle.
Memorial services for Becky will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30 at the Crouch Auditorium in Newcastle. A reception will immediately follow the service in the high school cafeteria.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in memory of Becky has been established. Funds toward her memorial can be sent to the First State Bank of Newcastle, in care of The Becky Borton Memorial, P.O. Box 910, Newcastle, WY 82701.
