TORRINGTON – Alice Mae Kenyon, 95, died Jan. 7 in Hallandale Beach, Fla.
Alice was born on July 3, 1916, at the Kenyon place east of Mitchell, Neb., to Charles Eugene and Edna Pearl (Henderson) Kenyon.
Shortly after she graduated from Mitchell High School, Alice moved to Chicago to work for an uncle. She then moved to the New York City area, where she worked for many years.
Alice retired to Hallandale Beach in 1971. She made almost yearly visits to Nebraska for family gatherings and celebrated her 95th birthday with family at the Harry Kenyon home last summer.
She is survived by three sisters, Edna Carpenter, of Torrington, Eleanor Miller, of Bremerton, Wash., and Marjorie Ahlquist, of Oceanside, Calif.; and brother, Harry F. Kenyon, of Mitchell.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Eugene, Hubert and Howard; sister, Anna Belle Hiatt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 30 at Jones Mortuary in Mitchell with the Rev. George Kilmer officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Mitchell City Cemetery.
