Celebrations: Fullmer 50th wedding anniversary

TORRINGTON, Dick and Pat Fullmer of Torrington will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 6 in conjunction with September Fest at the Rendezvous Center in Torrington from 5 to 10 p.m.
There will be German food and polka music to be enjoyed throughout the evening.

Average Wyoming ACT scores increase

CHEYENNE, Performance results on the ACT for the 2014 graduating class were released this week by the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) and the ACT. 
Statewide, the average composite score for the graduating class of 2014 rose from a year ago, increasing from 19.8 in 2013 to 20.1 in 2014.

Murray wins secretary of state race

CHEYENNE, Ed Murray narrowly defeated Ed Buchanan and two other opponents in the Republican primary Tuesday.
Murray, of Cheyenne, tallied 32,947 votes statewide to Torrington resident Buchanan's 31,336.

Military news: 115th Field Artillery Brigade receives a new commander

CHEYENNE, Capt. Joe Spieker, of Wheatland, assumed command of the Wyoming Army National Guard's Headquarters, Headquarters Battery (HHB), 115th Field Artillery Brigade, on Aug. 8.
Spieker took command from Capt. Matthew Berry, of Lingle, in a ceremony held at the brigade's armory, in Cheyenne, in front of the more than 100 soldiers present.
