Playing in their first state semifinal game since a 16-0 loss to Cokeville in 1996, the Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers found themselves down 14-0 midway through the second quarter and looked to be headed towards another disappointing loss to end the season.
But this Doggers team wasn’t going away.
Lingle-Fort Laramie reeled off 25 unanswered points en route to a 25-14 victory over the Cokeville Panthers to set up an all Goshen County 1A state championship game in Laramie after Southeast defeated Wind River on Friday, 42-12.
Cokeville took control of the Doggers early in the first period on Saturday with an opening 14-play drive that eventually stalled at the Doggers’ 32-yard line.
Lingle-Fort Laramie managed just three offensive plays and a loss of seven yards on their first possession and were forced to punt the ball back to the Panthers.
