Posted: Wednesday, Apr 23rd, 2014

Torrington senior Allison Marsh won the 100-meter dash in Glenrock Thursday. She also picked up a win in the 200-meter dash.

GLENROCK – The Torrington Lady Blazers continued their strong season with a third-place finish at Glenrock's Tony Lehner Invitational.

The Lady Blazers ended the day with 93 points, 14 points back of champion Kelly Walsh High School and nine back of Cheyenne East.

“What we lack in size, we definitely make up with power,” assistant track coach Kim Krieger said. “I think this shows just how great of female athletes we have in Torrington.”

“Competing well against the 4A schools is exciting,” assistant coach A.J. Gross added. “It speaks volumes about the quality of our upperclassmen, and it helps the underclassmen see that they can compete with the bigger schools if they work hard and are coachable.”
