Lady Lancers look for bounce-back season

Posted: Friday, Nov 9th, 2012

Eastern Wyoming College’s Brittani Colberg, No. 12, will be looked to for leadership this season. She is one of three sophomores on a young Lady Lancers squad.

TORRINGTON – Coach Tom Andersen enters his sixth season as the coach of the Eastern Wyoming College (EWC) Lady Lancers with a young team.

The team features only three sophomores, two of whom saw playing time in last seasons 7-24 year.

“We’ve got two kids returning and a sophomore transfer,” Andersen said. “The sophomores are showing great leadership in practice, the scrimmages and in the one game.”

Sophomore Brittani Colberg, a 5-foot, 6-inch guard from Mesa, Ariz., averaged 10 points and four assists per game last season, while Jeileen Mas, a 5-7 guard from Wesley Chapel, Fla., averaged 6.4 points and two rebounds.

Transfer JaiDah Richardson comes to EWC from Pratt (Kan.) Community College, where she averaged 2.2 points and 1.9 rebounds in 17 games for the Lady Beavers.

Despite the youthfulness of the team, Andersen is excited about the prospects of the season.
