COKEVILLE – The Southeast Cyclones held on to a 16-8 lead with seven seconds remaining in the game, when the Cokeville Panthers had one last opportunity to go 76 yards in one play Friday.

Panthers quarterback Jonathan Fiscus heaved the ball down the field. A Cyclone defender knocked down the ball, but instead of landing on the ground, it landed in the hands of Cokeville receiver Colter Linford.

Linford raced down the sideline before freshman Jeff Burroughs made the overtime-saving tackle at the 12-yard line, securing the victory. The win advances the Cyclones to the Wyoming Class 1A State Championship for the second-consecutive year.

After a scoreless first quarter, Cyclone quarterback Garrett Bartel guided the offense on a 51-yard drive, connecting with Burroughs on a 14-yard touchdown pass with 3:01 remaining in the second quarter.

For the first time all season, the Panthers found themselves down.
