FORT LARAMIE – Graveside services for Erma Dean Johns, 88, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at the Fort Laramie Cemetery with Rev. Vickie Kintzel officiating.
Erma died at The Residence at Oakridge in Fort Collins, Colo., on Jan. 1, 2014. The casket will be closed. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home, and friends may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
Erma Dean was born Oct. 2, 1925 in Florence, Ala., the daughter of Melvin and Okie Jane (Favors) Lamar. She attended school in Florence. She married Perry Johns on July 26, 1941 in Boulder, Colo. She worked at Seder Plastics in Fort Collins for several years.
When they retired, they moved to Fort Laramie in 1981, and she worked at the railroad company in Guernsey. After the death of her husband, she moved back to Fort Collins.
Erma was a member of the VFW Auxiliary No. 4471.
Erma Dean is survived by a son, Harold Johns and his wife Linda of Fort Collins, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and a sister.
