TORRINGTON – Henry Feagler, Jr., 93, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at the Goshen Care Center, Alzheimers Unit.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the First Congregational Church with Rev. Matt Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington.

Memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church of Torrington in Henry’s memory.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and prior to the service at the church. 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home, and friends may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com.

Henry was born Aug. 30, 1920 in Scottsbluff, Neb., the son of Henry, Sr. and Mollie (Temple) Feagler. He was known to friends and family as Heinie all of his life.

He received his education in various schools in the Panhandle area. He farmed with his father in the Panhandle until 1947. Henry then went into business with his brother. They farmed together until 1963, when Henry purchased his own farm north of Huntley.

He married Rosemary (Schlagel) Reel and her two children, Harvey and Debra, March 1, 1969. The family made their home at the farm north of Huntley until 1980, when he semi-retired and moved into Torrington. Henry stayed very active in farming with his step-son until 1994. He sold the farm and retired completely in 1997.

Henry is survived by his step-son Harvey and his wife Stacy Reel of Fisk, Mo.; step-daughter Debra and her husband Ronald Surratt of Torrington; five step-grandchildren, Dustin and Brandy Reel of Chapparel, N.M., Jason and Lacey (Reel) Wallace of Biloxi, Miss., Robert and Samantha (Reel) Dockery of Brosely, Mo., Russell Reel of Springfield, Mo., and Bailey Surratt of Torrington; six great grandchildren, Heaven, Destiny and Malichi Reel and Madison and Triston Wallace and Aiden Dockery; his brother David Feagler of Torrington; his sister Ruth Feagler of Gering, Neb.; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his loving wife Rosemary; an infant brother also named Henry; two brothers, Lawrence and Leroy; and two sisters, Lydia Keller and Irene Hoffman.
