COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Harold Roe Pitman, 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 17, 2013. Memorial services were held at Vista Grande Baptist Church in Colorado Springs on Monday, April 22, 2013.
Harold was born on Aug. 7, 1925 to Roe and Edith (Lewis) Pitman. He lived with his mother and father in Torrington prior to marrying Nora Van Mark.
Harold proudly served in World War II as a Marine in the South Pacific, especially Guam, with the Ninth AAA Battalion and Marine Defense Unit.
Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Nora J. (Van Mark) Pitman and five children: Larry (Lisa) Pitman, David (Lora) Pitman, Connie Pitman, Patricia (Bruce) McDaniels and Mari Christina (Randy) Knowles, all of Colorado Springs.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roe Pitman and Edith Lewis Pitman; his sisters, Wilma and Nadine, and brother Gene Pitman.
