TORRINGTON – Graveside memorial services for Darlene Bandemer, 92, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at the Valley View Cemetery with the Rev. Ora Dailey officiating.
Darlene died on Jan. 25, 2013 at Torrington Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions in her honor may be directed to either the EWC Fine Arts Department or to the United Methodist Church in Torrington. Darlene was born on Feb. 18, 1920 in Mitchell, Neb., the daughter of Henry and Katherine (Heimbuck) Bower. She grew up and received her education, graduating Liberty High School north of Morrill, Neb. in 1939.
She then married Leo Bandemer in Gering, Neb. on June 6, 1940. The couple moved to Lingle, where they farmed and then later farmed north of Torrington until retiring in 1989, at which time they moved into the town of Torrington.
Darlene was a member of the United Methodist Church in Torrington.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Deines of Torrington; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Julie Bandemer of Arizona, and Russell and Karen Bandemer of Williston, N.D.; a brother, Charles (Gina) Bower of Casper; two sisters, Marjorie (Ivan) Stewart of Brighton, Colo., and Joan Ryan of Casper; seven grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Rachel Kaufman and Ella Murphy; and three brothers, Harold, Alvin and Eddie Bower.
