TORRINGTON – Funeral services for Thelma Werner, 96, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.
Thelma died Nov. 18, 2012 at the Goshen Care Center. The casket will be open briefly following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home, and friends may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
Thelma was born July 10, 1916 in Washington, Mo., the daughter of Frank and Maude (Shelton) McCarty. She moved with her family at an early age to Wyoming and received her education in Slater.
She married Arthur Werner on June 13, 1944 in Cheyenne. After her husband took over operation of the family ranch southwest of Yoder, she was a ranch wife and homemaker.
Thelma enjoyed gardening, quilting and crafting of any sort. She was member of the South Goshen Presbyterian Church in Yoder.
Thelma is survived by four daughters: Janet Schwartzkopf and her husband Jerry of Torrington, Helen Bremer and her husband Ray of Wheatland, Phyllis Gamblin and her husband Roy of Wheatland and Barbara Caves of Tulsa, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Ron and Bud; 11 brothers and sisters; and one great grandchild.
