TORRINGTON – Terry Jones, 65, died on Oct. 7 at his home in Torrington. Cremation has taken place.
Terry was born on June 28, 1947, in Cheyenne to Herbert and Neva (Mathews) Jones. He grew up in Torrington, where he received his education; graduating Torrington High School in 1965.
He then went to work for Stickney’s Tire Company. In 1984, Terry started his own tire business, “Terry’s Tire Center.” In 1990, he built a new shop. Terry operated his shop until ill health forced him to close his business.
Terry married Barbara Stricker on July 24, 1967, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Torrington.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and golf. Terry was a member of the Elks Club and the Moose Club. He was a past governor of the Moose.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Torrington; his son and daughter-in-law, Ty L. and Carolyn Jones, of Helena, Mont.; mother, Neva Hittle, of Torrington; sister, Cathy Rorabaugh, of Casper; and stepbrother, Rod (Sandy) Hittle, of Blue Springs, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert; and stepfather, Al Hittle.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob Fertsch officiating, and the family requests that attendees come in casual attire.
