TORRINGTON – Following last summer’s Prairie Center fire, Goshen County’s resolve and generosity shined as the community donated time, supplies and money in a months-long recovery effort.
The fire, which ravaged a remote portion of the county approximately 15 miles from medical services, also prompted residents to inquire about immediate burn care training, Dodi Walters, RN and clinical nurse educator at Community Hospital, said.
“A person can provide life-saving care in the initial minutes of responding,” Walters said in a press release from Community Hospital. “The sooner you stop the burning process, the less tissue damage.”
