2 residents face charges for park fire

TORRINGTON – Two Torrington residents are under arrest in connection with the Guernsey State Park fire that scorched about 2,600 acres.

Capt. Bryan Morehouse of the Goshen County Sheriff’s Department said deputies arrested Stephenie Ann Schultz, 36, and Thomas Dean Pierson, 36, on Tuesday afternoon on Platte County warrants for arson. Schultz and Pierson have been transferred to the Platte County Detention Center. No court date has yet been set.
