The Torrington High School Blazers soundly defeated conference rival Newcastle, 8-1, during this evening's home match at the Old Wiseman Field.
Torrington established a 4-0 lead at halftime, following goals by junior Elijah Hatch and sophomore Anthony Arnusch. Hatch netted the first goal in the opening three minutes of regulation.
The Blazers continued their onslaught in the second half with four more goals. Senior Leo Belli, junior Kaiden Riggs and Hatch each slammed the ball past Newcastle's goalie.
Torrington hits the road to play Buffalo on Saturday.
