LaGrange, GCEDC discuss future projects Posted: Friday, Nov 28th, 2008
The meeting was the third in a series of county-wide meetings being held through December. GCEDC Director Lisa Johnson hosted the meeting, which was well-attended by LaGrange community members. Torrington Mayor Leroy Schafer, Goshen County Commissioner Jim Hudelson, state Sen. Curt Meier and GCEDC board member Todd Peterson also attended the meeting. Johnson began the meeting by discussing the mission of the National Economic Development Corporation and how that mission will trickle down to states, cities and towns. She then asked the audience to share their ideas on what LaGrange’s priorities should be in the coming years. The audience mentioned a walking path, law enforcement, a medical center, a recreation center with a swimming pool, town beautification and historic preservation. LaGrange Mayor Mark Marshall said the town is already experiencing some growth – a handful of new homes are being built in the area, and Marshall said he is excited about future growth of the town.
