Graveside services for Kathryn A. Winship, 91, of Gering, Neb., will be held at the Prairie Rest Cemetery in Guernsey on Friday, June 13 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jane Busey officiating. Kathryn died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at her residence at North Field Villa Medical Center in Gering.

Cremation has taken place and the Colyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Sept. 11, 1916, in Casper, Wyo., to Berneau and Kitty Lee (Patterson) Warren. She later married Robert Lee Winship on July 28, 1940, at Greybull, Wyo. To this union they had one daughter, Carolyn Lee Winship.

Kathryn was a long-time resident of Guernsey, where she and her husband raised their daughter, and where she was an elementary school teacher for 30 years. She enjoyed playing bridge and loved to golf in her younger years. She also was a member of the Guernsey Presbyterian Church, Job’s Daughters and an avid supporter of Eastern Wyoming College.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Melissa O’Leary and William Hall, both of Alliance, Neb., and Robert Hall of Rapid City, S.D.; and three great-grandchildren, Whitney, Kellon and Maleah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, her husband Robert and her daughter, Carolyn Lee Hall.
